I was the kid who grabbed a snow shovel and went knocking on doors looking to make a buck by cleaning off the neighbors’ cars and walkway.

I was the kid with the paper route and cutting lawns.
My first company, Mazer Wholesale, Inc., started in 1986. I’d just turned 21. It was a spin-off from my parents’ West Philadelphia hardware store. I’m proud to say, Mazer Wholesale still exists today as a merchandise wholesaler to retailers, service businesses and consumers. We sell an eclectic variety of products used in and around the home and for business.
Learning How to Sell Goods Online Changed My Business and My Life
In 1997 I decided that I’d better learn how “this internet thing” could help my business, so I decided to dedicate time after my regular work hours to educate myself on the subject. It wasn’t until year 2000 when I acquired my first new customer as a result of marketing my business online.
A few extra orders popping into my email here and there was very exciting. I got even more motivated and the learning has been ongoing ever since.
My Marketing Business, Small Business U.
Several years later I created Small Business University, LLC. to share my experiences in order to help and motivate business owners to invest some time and energy to learn about digital marketing.
While I was trying to help and educate business owners by inviting them to my small-group seminars, the internet sales for my wholesale business continued to grow.
In 2019, I realized that focusing solely on my wholesale business would be the best route for me to take. I have no regrets.
